Do lots of people REALLY still take heed of Sigmund Freud's crap?

Yeah I was never a huge fan of his work. I always thought he was just a pervert. But he did have some groundbreaking ideas in psychology for his day and they still teach all the old psychologists ideas in school. I think a lot of his ideas set the foundations for modern psychology and thats why he is so respected. I agree with you though, he will always just be a mother loving pervert who tried to justify his sick urges with his work
