When did people stop being scrupulous and start being lame and sue-monkeys?

I am not that old, so I view the past through a window of books, movies, and ped-down stories, but it seems like people used to have better standards before the hippies came around in the 60's. Nowadays everyone is such a baby. If you hurt someone's feelings they want to get you fired under some type of harment. Everyone wants to sue everyone. There's no such thing as a hero anymore, people just want more coach bags and flatscreen tvs. I am just curious how this all happened... my theory is that all the good fathers in this country must have died in WWII and weren't around to raise their kids, so their kids turned into pieces of shiznit. Any better theories?
